A Note From Me
“Do Small Things with Great Love.”- Saint Mother Theresa
Welcome- I’m Maureen Francois
I’m a therapist, a wife, a mom to five wonderful kiddos, and a fellow human navigating all the things—snow days, summer schedules, and the beautiful chaos of family life. Some days I feel like I’ve got it all together. Other days I’m hanging on by a thread. Maybe you know the feeling?
In many ways, I’m just like you—doing my best to show up, stay grounded, and grow.
I believe healing happens in safe spaces, through honest conversations, and inside real relationships. I find so much meaning in walking with people through both pain and growth. My work as a therapist is deeply personal to me. I don’t just do this professionally—I live it. I believe in it.
Why I Do This Work
Several years ago, my family moved to Salina- a decision that made sense for us, but came with a lot of unknowns. Starting over in a new town was both exciting and scary.
I wasn’t sure how things would unfold. But here’s what I’ve learned: when you surrender the need to control every detail (hello, anxiety) and make space for trust, the right opportunities have a way of showing up. I’m grateful for how this practice has taken root here, and for the chance to walk alongside others in this community.
I became a therapist because I’ve seen the power of healing in relationships. I’ve witnessed how honest, vulnerable conversation can open space for change—how people move from survival mode to truly living. I’m here for those moments.
Whether you’re facing anxiety, burnout, trauma, relationship struggles, or just feel lost in your own story, I offer a space where you don’t have to have it all figured out.
My Approach
My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that you know yourself best. In therapy, I am not the expert on your life; you are. I will serve as a guide as you work through the messy, raw, and unfiltered areas of your life. Together, we will discuss and implement strategies to make your burdens feel lighter. My wild hope for you is that you go forward with the skills and confidence to thrive.
One thing every mother knows is that it isn’t easy to be a mom! I have experience treating women in every stage of motherhood, with specific training in the fields of maternal and child mental health. I am passionate about helping women discover their resilience and manage their depression (including perinatal and postpartum depression), anxiety, stress, trauma, or even just feelings of being in a “funk”. Utilizing my evidence based training in Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) and training through Postpartum Support International I am equipped to help support YOU.
I am a Registered Play Therapist™ and provide play therapy services to children and families. Play is a child’s language; it’s a way for children to express strong emotions that they may be unable to verbalize. When children have challenges at home and/or school, it can leave a parent feeling overwhelmed and wondering how best to support their child. Play therapy provides a healthy outlet for the child’s emotions so they can build healthy relationships at school and with family and friends.
I am also trained in EMDR. This is a modality that provides people the opportunity to heal from challenging and traumatic experiences. An element of EMDR is to evaluate how past experiences have impacted their present lives. The hope is to help these past experiences be less intensified and become more supportive presently and in the future.
Let’s Begin
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, I get it. You don’t have to show up polished. You don’t have to be "ready." You just have to come as you are.
If you're curious about working together, I’d love to hear your Story.
